Sample CV

Below is a complete sample CV with a short note after each section explaining the reasoning — not just what to write, but why it's written that way.

Header

Tomáš Dvořák — Senior Accountant | [email protected] | +420 XXX XXX XXX | Brno, Czech Republic
Why: Name and target role are the first thing scanned. Phone and email are enough contact detail — a full postal address is no longer expected.

Summary

"Senior accountant with 8 years' experience in financial reporting and audit preparation for mid-size manufacturing firms. Reduced month-end close time from 6 to 3 days by restructuring the reconciliation process."
Why: One sentence establishes scope and seniority; the second gives a concrete, quantified result — far stronger than a list of adjectives.

Experience

Senior Accountant, ExampleCorp (2020–present)

  • Restructured monthly close process, cutting completion time in half
  • Managed relationship with external auditors during 3 annual audits
  • Trained 2 junior accountants on internal reporting systems

Why: Each bullet leads with an action and ends with a measurable outcome or scope (a number, a team size, a time saved).

Education and skills

BSc in Accounting, Masaryk University (2016) — kept brief, since work experience is now the stronger signal at this career stage. Skills: SAP, advanced Excel, IFRS reporting — specific tools, not generic claims like "detail-oriented."
